Exciting Possibilities – October 24, 2014

…we’ve been surprised in the six years of our cottage ownership, that we constantly find new places to discover, alone or with friends, on foot, by canoe or kayak, on snowshoes or skis or by bicycle. Mary Clark & Bernard Rochon

What do we like most about WWV? We’d have to say that it’s the location on the Ottawa River, surrounded by the beautiful, varied and unspoiled landscapes of the Ottawa Valley. The opportunities for year-round outdoor activities especially are countless. In fact, we’ve been surprised in the six years of our cottage ownership, that we constantly find new places to discover, alone or with friends, on foot, by canoe or kayak, on snowshoes or skis or by bicycle. And sometimes we’ll use our cottage as a base for day-trips elsewhere in the Ottawa Valley. Here are some of our favourite WWV experiences: paddling upriver to the rapids, exploring the islands and inlets on the way; watching the sunrise over the bay in all seasons; cycling the country roads around Cobden, Beachburg and Lapasse; skiing the trails of the Renfew County Forest, especially after a fresh snowfall; seeing the Canada Geese take off and land en masse in the lagoon in fall. Of course, we enjoy the lovely beach and the cottage building itself–especially the screened-in porch. Above all, we are happy we picked Whitewater Village because of its unique setting and exciting possibilities.
