The Power of Two

Whitewater Village is the product of two masterminds who met quite by chance several years ago.

Jonathan Westeinde, founder of Windmill Development Group, fell in love with the natural beauty of Presqu’ile Point on Rocher-Fendu Lake when he took his family there for an outing. They were in awe of its sparkling rivers and streams, peaceful lake and clean, white beach, with a shoreline of rocky outcroppings seemingly held together by clinging pines.

Jonathan’s environmentalist/developer’s mind reeled with the possibilities. He immediately envisioned a community of families that could share in this life-enriching experience for generations to come. All he had to do was find the owner of this land.

Joe Kowalski had discovered Presqu’ile Point several decades earlier and decided to dedicate his life to preserving this paradise forever. A passionate conservationist, he has always believed that wilderness areas can be enjoyed by many without destroying the existing ecosystem.

As founder of Wilderness Tours, Joe’s business success allowed him to fulfill his dream. For the previous two decades, he had been quietly preserving the last remaining wild part of the entire Ottawa River, including the spectacular Presqu’ile Point. But Joe also dreamed of finding a way for even more people to share in his exquisite haven.

Within minutes of meeting one another, Jonathan and Joe started the creative process that led to Whitewater Village—a thoughtfully appointed shoreline cottage resort nestled in a sanctuary of unspoiled beauty. A place where people of all ages can share in the tranquility of nature while experiencing life-enhancing activities.
